Here are some Safety tips from BPD, plus details on where extra patrols and safety resources will be Monday!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Boise Police will have full patrol teams, plus a few extra out this Monday, October 31st, Halloween night, helping to keep the evening safe for kids and families.<br \/>\nBoise Police will have extra patrols earlier in the evening on Monday at the busiest streets in the city for trick-or-treaters. Officers will have extra units assigned to cruise Harrison Blvd. and Warm Springs Blvd. monitoring both pedestrian and vehicle traffic for the safety of our trick-or-treaters!<br \/>\nParents can do their part by using the following safety check list to help ensure a happy and fun evening!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Halloween Safety Check List:<br \/>\nFirst and foremost, parents should accompany their children and carry a flashlight for safety and visibility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Have children wear costumes that are bright and reflective. Make sure shoes fit well and costumes are short enough to prevent tripping.<br \/>\n\u2022 Consider adding reflective tape or striping to costumes and trick-or-treat bags for greater visibility.<br \/>\n\u2022 Avoid using simulated knives, guns or swords. If such props are used, be certain they do not appear authentic and are soft and flexible to prevent injury.<br \/>\n\u2022 Always walk. Never run across a street.<br \/>\n\u2022 Confine, segregate or otherwise prepare household pets for an evening of frightful sights and sounds. Be sure that all dogs and cats are wearing collars and proper identification tags.<br \/>\n\u2022 Motorists should remain cautious and drive slowly.
