What’s new this year? At all six of Boise’s outdoor pools, the minimum age that kids can go to city pools without an adult has been raised to 9 from 7 years old.
Why did the rule change? It’s a public safety issue, said Boise Parks and Rec recreation coordinator George Scott. “We have a finite amount of guards we can put on at a time,” he said. “In order to keep all of our patrons safe, we need to have more parents at the pool watching their young kids.”
When do the pools open? Get your suits ready – you can dive in at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
