Spring Cleaning

Now that winter is in the rear view mirror, I am sure many of you and your neighbors are getting your yards ready for the spring and summer.

To help, the city of Boise is offering a free week of overflow trash collection. The “Spring Cleanup” as we have dubbed it is from April 26th-30th. Residents can dispose of larger amounts of trash from their clean up. Set out as much yard waste/trash in 20-32 gallon containers and paper leaf bags on your regular trash day from the 26th-30th. Please yard waste only and no more than 60-pounds in the paper bags. No overflow stickers are needed! (See attachment for more details.)

Now, before you send everything to the landfill as trash, “dig down” and look at your options. The attached newsletter also has more details on other options such as composting, household hazardous waste collection, large item pickup and more. Also attached is a list with resource information about where to donate reusable items, what to do with tires and more.

In addition, we know many of you already have neighborhood clean up events and this is a great opportunity for neighborhood associations to assist those residents who may have trouble keeping their properties clean (the elderly, disabled, etc.) by helping them dispose of unwanted items.

Please share this information with your neighbors and give me a call if you have any questions or need help. We look forward to assisting you in finding solutions that meet your needs, and keep your neighborhoods livable, friendly and vibrant.

Enjoy this nice weather and have a great spring!
