Arson at Public Parks

Recently two of our neighborhood parks in Boise suffered loss of playground equipment due to arson. The park near Mitchell and McMillan lost all of their equipment, and a park near Mitchell and Victory experienced partial loss due to arson.

We need the watchful eyes of you and your neighbors and your willingness to call police. Below are some tips:

1. Take time to walk through your park and spend time there. Have your cell phone available.
2. Report suspicious or criminal activity to police immediately – 911. Tell the dispatcher what you see, a description of the subject(s), and where they are located. Provide the dispatcher with your number for the officer to call back if necessary.
3. It is illegal to be in the park after dark, so if you see/hear someone, call police immediately. The non-emergency # is 377-6790 or call 911.
4. Don’t confront suspicious people and their activity; call police immediately.
